Description
A well-established probate and estate administration firm in Cook County is seeking a part-time contract attorney to assist with an active and growing probate practice.
Position Overview
This role is designed for an attorney who will function as the attorney of record within our probate process, handling cases from intake through resolution with the support of an experienced paralegal team.
Most matters involve non-contested or lightly contested probate administrations, with occasional instances of contested litigation. The primary focus is guiding clients through the probate process with clarity, organization, and steady communication.
Responsibilities
Serve as the attorney assigned to probate matters
Meet with clients to explain the probate process, expectations, and timelines
Work closely with paralegals to move cases efficiently through court
Appear in Cook County Probate Court as needed
Handle contested matters when they arise
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and next steps
Ensure matters proceed in an organized, timely, and professional manner

Compensation
$100 per hour
1099 independent contractor
