We work with national and regional financial institutions handling default servicing matters including litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation/workouts, real estate title curative, and evictions in South Carolina and North Carolina.  Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.

Job Description:

Riley, Pope and Laney is currently seeking an experienced default servicing paralegal to fill a full-time, on-site position in our Matthews, North Carolina office.  The experienced default servicing paralegal will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to support the attorneys.  The ideal candidate will be a team player, detail oriented, organized, flexible, self-motivated and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  The position requires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn client websites and Case Management Software.  

General Job Duties include, but not limited to:

•         Draft and file pleadings along with motions and other legal documents 
•         Prepare and mail letters to borrowers/occupants
•         Communicate with clients, courts, sheriff, etc. 
•         Update and communicate with clients using client systems
•         Work independently to track and maintain timelines and workload
•         Assist attorneys in other matters as needed

Requirements

Requirements:

•         High School Diploma
•         1 or more years of paralegal experience in real estate or foreclosure
•         Detail-orientated 
•         Willing to learn and grow
•         Ability to work with others

Preferred experience:

•         NC Foreclosure 
•         NC Title Review & Curative
