About the role
The Law Clerk will support the firm’s litigation attorneys in all phases of civil litigation, including legal research, drafting, case preparation, motion practice, discovery, trial preparation, and administrative case management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Research & Writing
- Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local laws, cases, and regulations.
- Draft memoranda, legal briefs, motions, and supporting documents under attorney supervision.
- Summarize case law, statutes, and rules relevant to ongoing matters.
Litigation Support
- Assist in preparing pleadings, discovery demands, responses, subpoenas, and court filings.
- Help organize and review discovery, including document production and evidence analysis.
- Prepare trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and case summaries.
- Assist attorneys during hearings, conferences, and trials as needed.
Case Management
- Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and docketing entries.
- Prepare case status updates, summaries, and internal reports for supervising attorneys.
- Communicate with court clerks, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors as directed.
Administrative & File Management
- Organize case files (electronic and paper) in accordance with firm protocols.
- Assist with client communications, including scheduling, document collection, and follow-ups.
- Support litigation team operations and ensure compliance with firm processes.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled in or completed a J.D. or LLM program; OR recent graduate awaiting bar results.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work in-office in Manhattan.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal research platforms (Lexis), and PDF editors.
Preferred
- Prior experience working in a litigation department or law office.
- Familiarity with court filing systems (NYSCEF, EDDS, PACER).
- Experience with Clio or similar case management software.

The pay range for this role is:
60,000 - 70,000 USD per year(Manhattan Headquarter)
