What You’ll Do
The Senior Trademark Paralegal provides essential support for attorneys and internal teams managing Authentic’s extensive trademark portfolio. This role is designed for a highly experienced professional who can onboard quickly, work independently, and serve as a resource and informal mentor to junior paralegals. The Senior Trademark Paralegal assists Authentic’s IP team with all phases of U.S. and international trademark prosecution—from pre-filing to maintenance of registered trademarks—and also supports enforcement and opposition matters. The ideal candidate will bring advanced knowledge of trademark processes and contribute to team-wide initiatives and process improvements.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Creates, maintains, and updates U.S. and international trademark and patent prosecution and opposition files and case materials in both physical and in electronic records management systems, including WebTMS
- Corresponds regularly with foreign counsel on new trademark applications and routine prosecution matters
- Takes the lead on special projects and team-wide paralegal matters as necessary
- Creates, maintains, and updates docket reports
- Reviews the docket on a daily basis to track all deadlines associated with trademark prosecution, oppositions, customs recordals, and enforcement matters
- Prepares powers of attorney and related documents for trademark assignments
- Gathers and organizes evidence of use to support pending applications pending oppositions
- Prepares status reports for attorneys and internal teams as needed
- Assists in quality assurance review of trademark records and correspondence
- Assists in checking and updating the status of trademark cases with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and foreign trademark offices when appropriate
- Provides guidance and informal mentorship to junior paralegals, sharing best practices and supporting their professional development
- Identifies opportunities to improve workflows and contributes to process optimization across the IP team
- Serves as a point of contact for complex trademark matters and escalations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must Haves
- At least 3+ years of relevant trademark paralegal experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and problem solve
- Relevant work experience in IP required
- Experience supporting IP attorneys required
- Demonstrated ability to ramp up efficiently and demonstrate early ownership of key responsibilities
- Experience mentoring or training junior team members is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Primary Location Salary Range:
$80,000 - $90,000
The position is hybrid: M-Th in office, WFH on Fri
