We're looking for a motivated new attorney or recent law school graduate who wants hands-on courtroom experience and mentorship in a growing practice.

What You'll Do:

• Draft pleadings, motions, and orders for Juvenile & Domestic Relations (JDR) and Circuit Court matters
• Conduct legal research on Virginia (and occasionally DC and Maryland) family law statutes and case law
• Assist with discovery, subpoenas, and evidence preparation, including working with attorney work-product materials
• Support preparation of retirement specific documents, such as QDROs< COAPs, and DFAS retirement benefit filings
• Attend and eventually argue hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences under attorney supervision
• Communicate directly with clients to gather case information and provide status updates
• Collaborate with paralegal/support staff on filing deadlines and court procedure compliance

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

• J.D. from an accredited law school (recent graduates welcome — no prior experience required)
• Active Virginia Bar admission, or eligibility to sit for the next Virginia Bar exam (DC and Maryland Bar a plus, but not required or expected)
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Genuine interest in family law, and a desire to build deep expertise in this practice area
• Detail-oriented approach to court procedure, filing deadlines, and documentation
• Comfortable learning new processes quickly and taking initiative
