The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to our region: transportation, wastewater collection and treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.
The Office of General Counsel provides legal representation, guidance, analysis, and services to the Council, its Chair, members and committees, the Regional Administrator and staff; protects the legal rights of the Council and assists in achieving its objectives; helps develop and implement Council policies; and helps the Council fulfill its responsibilities within applicable legal, auditing, and jurisdictional authorities.
The Legal Assistant provides advanced administrative support with limited supervision to the attorneys in the Office of General Counsel and to the Data Practices Office to ensure administrative and statutory compliance.
Salary Range: $65,208 - $105,830 annually
Requirements
Any of the following combinations of completed education and legal administrative work experience:
High school diploma/GED with four years of experience
Associate degree or higher with two years of experience
