Kennedy & Graven, Chartered is a law firm of more than 30 attorneys dedicated to representing public sector clients throughout Minnesota. Our attorneys are well known for their extensive experience in providing legal services to municipalities, school districts, counties, townships, state agencies, and development authorities.
The firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys across multiple practice areas, including Employment and Municipal Law. This position focuses on assisting attorneys in a wide range of civil litigation matters involving public sector clients.
Key responsibilities include managing and organizing case files; drafting and responding to written discovery; coordinating and summarizing document productions; assisting with deposition and trial preparation; cite-checking and proofreading briefs; eFiling in state and federal courts; and supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation, including motion practice, hearings, and trials. The paralegal will also assist with case investigation, maintaining litigation calendars, and ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules.
Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following minimum requirements:
At least five (5) years of litigation paralegal experience
Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures in state and federal courts
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with legal research tools and litigation support software
The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively
The following qualifications, though not required, are strongly preferred:
Experience working in a public sector legal environment
Knowledge of Minnesota Governmental Data Practices Act and experience in redaction of documents
Familiarity with employment law or municipal law matters
Experience with eDiscovery platforms and document management systems
