Experienced Massachusetts Family/Criminal Law Paralegal

MacDonald Law, P.C. is a growing law firm with offices in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. We are seeking an experienced Massachusetts Family/Criminal Law Paralegal to join our team in our Newburyport office.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling Massachusetts family and criminal matters, including divorce, custody, parenting plans, child support, alimony, contempt actions, misdemeanor and felony cases, and be familiar with Probate and Family Court procedures. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable managing a busy caseload in a fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time, in-office position located in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Occasional travel to Hampton Falls, NH will be required (about 20 minutes between offices).
Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, motions, financial statements, discovery requests and responses, and other family law documents for attorney review
Prepare and organize Massachusetts Probate and Family Court filings
Manage case deadlines, court dates, and attorney calendars
Communicate with clients regarding case status and document collection
Assist attorneys with trial and hearing preparation
Organize exhibits, witness materials, and supporting documentation
Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
Coordinate service, filing, and document production
Assist with discovery management and document review
Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
Attend court with attorneys when necessary
Qualifications
Minimum three years of Massachusetts family/criminal law paralegal experience
Strong knowledge of Massachusetts Probate and Family Court procedures
Experience preparing Massachusetts Financial Statements and Child Support Guidelines Worksheets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Clio or similar case management software preferred
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff
