Wood & Long, LLC is a dedicated family law firm committed to providing compassionate, high-quality legal services to our clients. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our team and help ensure our clients receive the best support possible.
Position Overview:
The Paralegal / Legal Assistant will provide essential support to attorneys, assisting with case management, document preparation, and client communications. This role requires a self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage case files and maintain organized records
- Draft legal documents and manage discovery processes
- Request and organize records from third parties
- E-file and file documents with the court
- Attend court hearings and/or depositions as needed
- Monitor email and fax communications
- Draft and send correspondence
- Reconcile client and case contact information
- Assist other staff with overflow tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher strongly preferred
Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm - Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Demonstrates integrity and maintains confidentiality in all office operations and client interactions
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and take initiative
- Team-oriented with the ability to take on tasks beyond core responsibilities to support continuous operations

Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
